It's a bit presumptuous of us to use the word friends here, since many of these folks don't even know we are linking to their sites. But we look upon them fondly, and can only hope they return the emotion.

Inspirational Friends

Well, this list is going to get me in trouble because I am going to leave out important people, who will then feel slightly miffed, but be too polite to tell me about it. So tell me about it, PLEASE.

  • Ken Winograd (who got me in motion)
  • Dave Wolverton (who pointed me in the right direction)
  • Perry Clarke (who patted my back when I needed it)
  • Michael Wilson (my boss, who sets an amazing example)
  • Mel Schwartz (my first boss, who showed me the way)

Helpful Friends

These are people who have directly facilitated me (i.e. done all my work for me and let me take credit for it)

  • Stephan Schonberg (the multitaskingest guy I know)
  • Josh Worts (the renaissance man)
  • Chris Damask of Logolotta (who did the cool logo) Chris is sans web site at the moment...

Friends of Warpath and NetSpades

These are sites which have spontaneously erected temples praising our games (well, ok, maybe they just added the game to a list of a zillion others they have heard of. In any case, we remain eternally grateful!

Parallel Universes

These are sites (well, so far *a* site) where people have followed a similar, um, er, spiritual path? to my own.

  • Dion Kurczek's Silicon Commander Games (can you say real-time, multiplayer games with a reusable internet server? Sound familiar?)

Legal Tremors Section

I'm a little nervous about this, as I am highly non-confrontational, but the fact exists that Synthetic Reality is a registered company name, and has been for over a decade. We own the synthetic-reality.com domain name, and the Synthetic Reality trademark. The name actually pre-dates the popular use of the term 'virtual reality.' The reason I point this out is as a preface to the following list of other, non-affiliated sites, which have begun using the Synthetic Reality name. I think we can all just get along, but I just want to be clear on the subject, to avoid any nasty imperial entanglements later on.

  • The Blade Productions Synthetic Reality (hey, these guys have MUCH better art than mine!) But their URL broke...
  • syntheticreality.com (no dash, I knew I'd regret being stingy :-)
