Patch info v3.1 (15-07-2023)

ADDED:
- The gender options are updated with a nonbinary option to make the world more inclusive.
- Class names that have gender pronouns also account for nonbinary people now.
- Marriage in Maku's Tunner is fully supported for nonbinary people.
- Gunslinger class is added, these warriors from ancient times have a unique storyline and new play elements.
Discover more about the history of RoT with this class and how the world came to be the way it is now.
- Gunslinger companion system: chose between Yuku or Carlos and have them join you on your quests.
- Part of the gunslinger update are also new abilities/ play elements that they get, these include:
- Hacking computers
- Manipulating circuit boards
- Shooting at the gun range (you can get a server high score when you play online)
- Killing flying drones
- Catching hatchlings (a sort of pokemon catching, but then RoT style)
Make sure you have sound effects enabled.
- In addition to the above, Gunslingers also receive unique equipment and liquor.
- Once a gunslinger becomes level 17, they cannot use regular equipment anymore and only their special equipment.
- Gunslinger hardcore challenges, there are four additional challenges added for gunslingers.
- A new challenge starts every 20 levels, which you can do for 5 levels. (20 - 24, 40 - 44, 60 - 64, and 80 - 84).
- You can repeat each challenge as often as you like during those 5 levels.
- Beat all challenges to receive a promotion from gunslinger to expert gunslingers.
- These challenges are more difficult than the regular gunslinger missions, but can be beaten with some practice.
- Expert gunslingers have 20% magic instead of 5% magic.
- Expert gunslingers also have their hand and spell table PP maxed out, otherwise they're the same as regular gunslingers.
- New midi files, maps, scenes, and skins are added as part of the Gunslinger update.
- To compensate for the loss of PP while leveling up due to the much higher exp, you can now earn PP Coins. You can exchange these for PP at a PP Coin Exchange. (You can find these in all the cities in the world.)
- Especially non-casters will benefit from this greatly while leveling since you get decent PP even with low Wisdom.
- Note that this only works after regular fights on the maps, fights where you fight monsters in other scenes will usually not reward PP Coins.
- PP Coins stop once you hit level 99, but you can still turn in Coins that you have already earned.
- The PetPen now looks more like a comfortable house instead of a stable. It's only a visual change, but much friendlier for our companions.
- There is an additional tip in the FAQ in Elliair now about what you can do when you get stuck on a quest.
In general, if you ever get stuck: check Books | Quest Diary or visit the quest scene again. Most likely this will give you a hint of what you should do next.
- The donation page received a big update, you can now support RoT at https://ko-fi.com/rotsilver
- Slave stores now offer slave food and trainers too.
- The Rings of Flux are added with a new shop in Maku's Tunner, right above the Auction. These rings double your speed and prevent you from having to switch between speed boots and other boots.
- The ninja trials give Gunslingers 2 Kagoshima blood as a reward since they can't use Speed Boots MK 2.

FIXED:
- By request, skeleton swords are much easier to find now, however, their value was lowered.
- Typos in class names and such.
- Dark Warlock class has its hand damage increased, however, its HP is now lower. The Magic ratio remains at 100. Overall, it should mean that the warlock deals more damage and is more viable to play end-game.
- You have a random chance to get any of the demon keys from the Auction now. The chance for the keys to appear has also slightly increased.
- You have a random chance to get any of the demon keys from the Tournament now. The chance to win a key has also slightly increased.
- Ban scripts have been updated, this should cause less accidental banning.
- Several heal scenes regenerate health five times faster now (wait time was reduced from 0.5 to 0.1 per tick).
- The range of several weapon types has been adjusted.
- Bow weapons are now renamed to Ranged weapons as part of the Gunslinger update.
- Monsters give 110% xp now instead of 48% (if you use Evergreen as a baseline), meaning that you'll level almost 2.3 times faster than in the past.
The gold you earn from monsters has also increased from 20% to 46%, this is 110% of what it used to be, to keep it in line with the exp increase.
I've decided on this course of action to cut back on the grindiness of WoS, however, if I receive a lot of feedback that people prefer slower leveling then I can tone it down a bit, although it'll remain higher than it used to be.
The chance for random encounters is doubled due to the increased exp rate.
- The chance to become a werewolf increased from 20% to 50%. All other conditions remain the same.
Gunslingers can never turn into werewolves though, this just messes up too many things.
- Automatic waypoints have been disabled in Hell's Kitchen, Lock & Load, and Kamatari's Cave, this should make navigating there less frustrating.
- The hand ratio of Cursed Human went up from 80% to 95%, but their health was decreased by 700 HP from 5450 to 4750. Their MP also increased from 1500 to 1850. Cursed Humans were 0.3 weaker than average, now they're just as strong as the regular classes.
- The storyline CUT scenes are slightly improved (mostly fixed typos and less wait times).
- All seeds items now require level 20+ to use instead of level 15, this prevents the game from becoming too easy at the early levels now that the exp is increased.
- Monsters have been made stronger so you end up fighting closer to your level and don't burn through the content too quickly.
- You can earn the birthday pet now once your character is 25 hours old instead of 100 hours.
- There is a small shortcut added in Maku's Tunner right above the entrance to get to Mary's house and drunken Iori easier.
- The Challenges have become much easier, give them a try!
On the lower levels monsters were nerfed 7 levels, on the highest levels they were nerfed up to 30 levels.
It should be much easier to beat them now, so please give them a try!
The Challenges no longer kick you out after the first three challenges, forcing you to camp again to heal and such, instead you can do that in the current scene.
The last Challenge still kicks you out automatically to allow you to run to the turn in point as quick as possible.
You receive a warning when you're one level below the new bracket if you didn't beat a challenge yet.
You can turn this warning off at the Challenges' Exit, right-click on Chin Toi.
- All the level 8 summon spells have been changed to level 5 summons to make them more accessible at lower levels, their costs have been lowered from 750 to 700 (Fuugler was lowered from 600 mp to 550 mp).
- Summon mini me's cost has been lowered from 875 to 800 while the spell level went down from 9 to 6, this makes the spell easier available at lower levels.
- Iori in the Synth had his HP reduced by 75% from 32k to 8k.
- The ability to learn rebuffing/ debuffing was cut down to a third of the original time, for example, if your character had to be 15 hours before then you only need to be 5 hours now.
- Waiting to learn rebuffing and debuffing from Fastom was cut down from 60/ 90 seconds to 10/ 20 seconds.
- Gizerkai now also sells Fish for all you cat lovers. This gives you a one stop shop to buy all kitty related items. :-)
- You can now kill Drunken Iori with a spell if you cast a spell outside the god element. This way wand users can kill him too.
- You have a 12% chance to run into a Super K' in No Rest for the Wicked now instead of 5%. This change is implemented due to leveling up much quicker now and having a large chance of missing out on them. They still stop giving Kagoshima Bloods after level 55.
- Power belt mark 2 is now a level 90 item instead of level 60, it was always meant to be an end-game item, and this change reflects that.
- Magic users who have more than 50% magic receive 5 minutes extra when the Trials start, this is to compensate them for the longer spell cast times as opposed to hand users who have much quicker attacks.
- Map updates with monsters (to make it easier to find good enemies to level up on):
Kamatari south side has level 32 - 35 enemies now on the west part of the map.
Green Destinty has low level 40 enemies added to the south east island.
Devil's palace has a greater monster variety.
- Slave food sounds like actual food now instead of a sword attack.
- The attack/ defense power from the end-game items has increased, this will allow you to have easier fights end-game.
- When you use the teleporter, you immediately enter the teleporter scene without teleporting to a link first.
- The special plasma/ laser weapons turned from shads into ranged weapons, Gunslingers can use these too.
- Sky Lands works again! It's very easy to level up your slave/ companion/ partner/ pet here.
- The Ninja Trials let you know now how many enemies you've killed.
- The Mission tells you which spell you received at the end.

CHANGES TO THE ROT WAR:
- The battles in the RoT war have been reduced from 199 to 99.
- The monsters fighting in the RoT war had their levels reduced by 10 while the end boss levels were reduced by 25.
This means you can start the RoT war at level 50 - 55 and stand a good chance of defeating the monsters.
- You receive a RoT war progress checker from Kamatari when the war starts so you can check your progress.
- You receive 1 kagoshima blood for every level below 55 when you start the rot war (this means you get 5 Kagoshima blood if you start the war at level 50).

I love that you've still got RoT on your mind after all these years. It was hands down the largest undertaking in the history of WoS alternate worlds. I remember how it shook things up when it released. Those were the days
