More and more I have been playing antsy, my significant other and I will set up our ants, and put the screen off for a little while. Sometimes I use other functions on the phone. It's a cool 'background game' when it needs to be. an optional notification icon would be nice to get back to the game quick and remind me that i've got one running.

I sort of feel like that's an android issue more than an individual game issue. I believe Honeycomb has some sort of one-tap see-a-list-of-running-apps.
I also feel like 2.2 has something like that but for the life of me I can't remember where it is.

Latest release of Antsy included "Bug Bombs" which charge over time and can then be set off by either player, killing all nearby ants. (in an effort to give the losing player a chance to invoke large losses on the winning player, possibly to change the tide of the game, or just simple vindictiveness)
